The week at a glance
This covers August 20 to 27. There were 396 graded sales across 127 cards. 347 were PSA, 43 were BGS and six were TAG. The middle sale was $838. The biggest was $17,700.
I see a small dip across the whole card market. I see it in One Piece and Lorcana too.
Ahri is still on top, but lower
On August 26, an Ahri - Inquisitive (Signature) PSA 10 sold for $9,700. Another sold for $9,999. It used to sell for well over $10,000.
There are 429 PSA 10s of this card. About 93% of the PSA copies graded so far are 10s. BGS has 125 BGS 10s, about 38% of its copies.
One Ahri listing showed $12,500, but the seller took an offer. I think it really sold closer to $9,000 to $10,000.
I still think Ahri is a card to sell into strength. Nobody knows where the top is.
Kai'Sa is climbing
A Kai'Sa - Daughter of the Void (Signature) sold for $10,000 on August 20.
The first TAG sale in the top 10 was a Kai'Sa in a TAG Black Label 10. It scored 986 out of 1,000, and it is the only one. It sold at auction for $12,200.
The Kai'Sa - Daughter of the Void (Metal) (Prize Wall) sold for $12,201 on August 21.
The metal Prize Wall cards
The Jinx - Loose Cannon (Metal) (Prize Wall) sold for $11,150 on August 25. It was an auction.
The Teemo - Swift Scout (Metal) (Prize Wall) PSA 10 sold for $12,600 on August 21. The auction had 38 bids.
The top sale of the week was the Ahri - Nine-Tailed Fox (Metal) (Prize Wall) at $17,700 on August 25.
You can no longer get the first set of Prize Wall cards. Whatever is out there is all there is. I think that will keep pushing these prices up.
Baron Nashor in PSA 9
A Baron Nashor (Ultimate) sold in a PSA 9 above the raw price. The lowest raw listing is about $2,500. In most games, a PSA 9 sells for about the raw price. Recent PSA sales have been closer to $4,300.
What comes next
In the short term, I think the T1 bundle cards will lead the graded market. Serial-numbered cards will take time to get graded. After that, I expect more metal Prize Wall cards in the top sales.
