Hype is pushing prices up again
We see this every time a new set is close. Hype makes cards shoot up. Then the set comes out, and the hype fades. It is happening again with Radiance.
Seal of Rage: $11 to $30
Seal of Rage is up almost 80% in the last 30 days. At the low, you could buy it for $11. Now the market price is close to $30. People think the new Radiance cards will make a strong Miracle deck.
When it was $10 to $11, I said to buy it if you were missing one. I was missing one, so I bought it. I paid about $12. Now it is almost triple the low.
I think every serious player needs a full set of the seals. But I don't think they are worth $30. Around $15 is the spot I like. They could cost a lot more if the game adds a format where every card is legal.
The Seal of Rage (Overnumbered) has not gone up as much. Its low was $56, and it sits at $65. Three copies would cost you $180 to $190. I still think it is a good price for a collector.
Elder Dragon and Baited Hook: hold
Elder Dragon jumped after the Kennen ban. Since then it has pulled back. The market price is close to $20. I would grab one at $15.
The Elder Dragon (Alternate Art) is at $25. I would want it at $20. For now, Elder Dragon is a hold.
Baited Hook also went way up, then pulled back a little. The market price is close to $59. The peak was about $62, and the low was about $40. I think it costs a bit too much right now. Hold, and wait for about $45. If you don't play yellow, don't buy it.
Corina Veraza, Rift Herald and Mirror Image
Corina Veraza is up 602% in 30 days. It was a $1.50 Epic. Now it sits at $10. I think it is pure Seraphine hype.
This is why I buy every Epic I am missing when it is under $5. You could have had three Corinas for less than $5. Now one costs $10.
Rift Herald went up from LeBlanc hype. You could have had it for $5. Now it is $10. It is a hold for me. I would buy at $5 or $6.
The Rift Herald (Alternate Art) has a market price of $16.25. It was as low as $6.75. I think $10 would be a good deal.
Mirror Image went from $7 to $20. Now it is close to $14. It is still a bit high, so I would hold. At $10, go for it.
Seal of Discord and Last Rites
Seal of Discord took a big hit after the Kennen ban. It seems to be settling around $35. It is down 22% in 30 days. Bookmark it. If you can get it for $25 to $30, I would buy it.
Last Rites is down 36% in 30 days. At its peak, it was almost $52. The market price now is about $33. Six months ago it was around $11. I don't think it goes back to $11, because purple decks keep using it.
I would buy Last Rites at $30. At $20 to $25, it is an easy buy if you are missing it. This is the only card I would buy right now.
Hold almost everything else
Most of these cards are a hold. I expect them to drop before the Radiance pre-release. That should be a good time to pick them up. Even with all the hype, I am holding Seal of Rage.
My rule still stands. If an Epic you are missing is under $5, buy it.
