A $60 deck won Barcelona
The first Vendetta Regional Qualifier finished in Barcelona. Ornn won it with a deck that cost about $60. Three of the Top 8 players were on Kennen. That is a $400 deck. The $60 deck beat them all.
The Top 8 had three Kennen, two Master Yi, one Azir, one Rengar and one Ornn. The same $60 list now costs closer to $100.
My call on Seal of Focus
Seal of Focus was a $12 card on Friday. Now it is close to $40. Three copies went from about $36 to about $120.
I do not think it is a buy at $40. That is a reaction, not a price. If you own three and do not play green, this is a good time to sell. If you want to build the deck, I would wait.
After a big event, prices move on a clock. Panic buys come in the first 48 hours. More supply comes out over the next week. Then prices settle. That is when I would buy.
The Ornn deck
The Ornn - Fire Below the Mountain (Overnumbered) was $68 going into the weekend. The last sale was $149. When an Overnumbered legend drops under $60, I usually just buy it.
I think a very good player won with this deck. I do not think Ornn will take over the meta. If you do not play orange, I would sell.
Scuttle Crab is a rare near $3.50. It is up 34% in 90 days. Not long ago it was under 70 cents. Sprite Fountain is an uncommon at $3.25. If you play Ornn, buy it. If not, sell it.
The Azir deck
The Azir - Emperor of the Sands (Overnumbered) is up 24% in 30 days. It is about $123. I think that is a little high. Buy it only if you play green and yellow.
The Azir champion unit is up 19%. At about $9, I think it is a buy. Azir's key spell is about $21. If you play Azir, you need three.
The Rengar deck
The Rengar - Pridestalker (Signature) is up 23%. Its market price is $463, but the last sale was $675.99. I would not buy it now. At $400 to $500, it was a good buy.
The Rengar - Pridestalker (Overnumbered) is up 78% in 30 days. The market price is $122. The last sale was $115. I think that is a buy.
The Rengar, Trophy Hunter (Overnumbered) is down 17%. The market price is $143. I would wait until it is closer to $100.
Pike is up 35% to about $15. It was $6 in early August. Thrill of the Hunt was $2.50 a month ago and is now about $10. Irresistible Fayfolk is a rare up 162%, to about $5. I think all three are sells unless you play Rengar.
Other staples
Kai'Sa is about $71, up 14%. If you play red, you need three. If you never play red, sell her. Sabotage is a rare near $18, up 32%. If you play orange, you need it.
My rule for Epics between $10 and $20: I only buy them if I play those colors. If I do not, I sell them.
